![]() ![]() I cant go anywhere in summer without seeing a Corvette, Miata, S2000 or a Z3 anymore but seeing another Sky is like seeing a unicorn. Honestly though, my favorite part about the car is that you rarely see them anywhere. There are luggage racks you can mount on the trunk (temporarily) for longer trips which work just fine. The trunk space isn't great, but if that really mattered you wouldn't be looking at a roadster right now anyway. The interior could be slightly better quality (less plastic) but it looks good and honestly, you'll have so much fun driving it you wont care. The top takes literally 4 seconds to put down, I don't understand why people complain about it so much. Not to mention cheap insurance costs, easy and inexpensive to maintain (the 2.0 turbo motor is still being thrown into most current GM models today, parts are everywhere, stop crying about Saturn being dead). Less than 3,000lbs, near perfect 50/50 weight distribution and over 300hp/350lbs of torque (With the previously mentioned tune) will put you into C6 Corvette range while getting close to 30MPG. ![]() You can go pay twice as much for an S2000 or go ahead and get an underpowered Miata but what's the point? A Sky Redline with a $300 Trifecta Tune is easily the best performance car you can get for your money. ![]() If you need Saturn Sky accessories, CARiD is the place to make your move.I owned one, drove it for 25,000 miles, sold it for some extra cash to put down on a house. Optional Sky configurations included LS7 engine, large brakes and turbo-charged versions exceeding 750hp. Both models had air conditioning, cruise control and power windows/locks included into the standard package. And again, two types of transmissions (5 speed manual/automatic) were available for both editions. The new 2009 base Saturn Sky was equipped with 2.4L 173hp engine, Red Line Edition had a turbocharged 2.0L 260hp unit. Both models Sky base and Sky Red Line were equipped with the same types of engines as the previous model year editions. There were several innovations applied to Saturn Sky parts, such as power driver's seat height adjuster, and leather covered steering wheel. Safety systems included ABS, an antiskid system, and traction control. The 2008 Sky editions got more standard equipment, air conditioning, cruise control, and power window locks. The Saturn vehicles, just like Saturn parts are no longer produced. For both editions Saturn Sky and Sky Red Line two types of transmissions were available (5-speed manual/automatic). It was a high-performance model equipped with a 4-cylinder turbocharged 260hp engine. In 2006 there was introduced a newer version of Saturn Sky – Red Line model. The Sky had 18” wheels and was equipped with a 2.4L 177hp engine. The Saturn Sky was shown for the first time in 2005 at the North American International Auto Show, the production version was released one year later. ![]()
